Nexus Hope (they/them), a queer and neurodiverse creator, has been a Massachusetts resident their whole life. Growing up surrounded by artists and inspired by stories like Alice in Wonderland and Castle in the Sky they came to love storytelling and craft. They find comfort in the sweet spot of reality and unreality.
Nexus believes in creating art that mimics the experience of doubting one's perception of reality. They aim to use their voice and work to bring attention to mental illness and the queer experience. They wish to destigmatize mental illness while still showing the real difficulty of living with a brain that works against you.
In the words of their Mother, "You have a wonderful, terrible brain."
Nexus graduated high school at 16 and forged their own path in life, creating an educational journey that suited them and allowed them to focus on their craft. They studied creative writing at Holyoke Community College and Hampshire College in Amherst graduating with their bachelor's degree at 20. They currently work in marketing and communications as a digital media specialist and they are always looking for new places to submit.
They can be found randomly in the woods hanging around stray cats and in every dark corner of Western Massachusetts. Their piece, "The Thing That Lives in the House" can be found in Spectrum: an Autistic Horror Anthology.
With thanks to their mom, their #1 supporter.
